AI features are not used to make eligibility decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, or similar legal rights. AI features are intended to help you organize and review business bookkeeping information.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following ways.

Service Providers

We use service providers to operate and support JuniperBooks. Current providers include:

  1. Vercel for hosting and deployment.
  2. Supabase for database and authentication.
  3. OpenAI for AI processing.
  4. Brevo for email delivery.

We may also use other service providers for analytics, logging, diagnostics, monitoring, infrastructure, security, support, and related operations. Service providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

Business Workspace Users

Information in a business workspace may be visible to owners, members, and other authorized users in that workspace, depending on their roles and permissions.

For example, owners may be able to view and manage business details, uploaded statements, transactions, categories, reports, notes, members, and invites.

User-Directed Disclosures

You may choose to export information, download reports, share files, send reports to a CPA or advisor, or otherwise disclose information outside JuniperBooks. We are not responsible for how third parties handle information after you share it with them.

Legal, Safety, and Enforcement

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  1. Comply with law, legal process, or government requests.
  2. Enforce our Terms of Service.
  3. Detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical issues.
  4. Protect the rights, property, or safety of JuniperBooks, users, businesses, or third parties.

If we later use advertising technologies or other practices that are considered a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable privacy law, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide required choices.

Where required by law, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals for sale or sharing, but we do not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may send product updates, onboarding messages, early access announcements, educational content, surveys, and feedback requests.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, operate our business, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and improve the Service.

If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify account and business information within a reasonable period, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, backup, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.

Backups and archival copies may persist for a limited period before they are deleted or overwritten according to our normal backup practices.

If a member requests deletion of information that belongs to a business workspace, we may need direction from the workspace owner before deleting business records.

If your information is part of a business workspace, some requests may need to be handled through the workspace owner or administrator.

13. Sensitive Personal Information

Business tax IDs, financial transaction data, and certain account information may be sensitive depending on the context and applicable law.

We use sensitive personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, debug, maintain, and improve the Service, comply with law, and protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for advertising.

14. De-Identified and Aggregated Information

We may create and use de-identified or aggregated information for analytics, benchmarking, product improvement, security, research, and business purposes.

We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified information except as permitted by law, such as to test whether de-identification works.

17. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party websites or services.
